LoRez Studio is a small Pittsburgh design studio with one mission: creating digital experiences that make people smile.

Over the past ten years the studio has designed hundreds of print documents, built dozens of websites, made several hundred pixel art works (including over one hundred mini-animations), sold tens of thousands of stickers, and, more recently, designed and helped publish books for local authors. Its best-known work is Wallace.dog, an on-going animation series starring a real-life Corgi and his pixel pals.

The studio was founded by Jeremy Brown, a designer and digital artist who still draws every pixel. Between projects, the studio runs on video essays, game making, and video game music.

Studio Statement

LoRez Studio grew out of the video games of the ‘80s and ‘90s, played together as a family. Exploring the worlds of Zelda and Pokémon side by side showed that games can connect people.

Working in the pixel art space today, the studio sets out to capture that shared excitement and bring it to modern audiences of all ages.

Low resolution layouts and limited color palettes teach the value of working within constraints and making every pixel count. Sharing original pixel pieces online and listening to feedback keeps proving how good it feels to make art that helps other people feel good. When a small detail in an animation makes someone laugh, or a new piece reminds someone of a friend they excitedly tag and a conversation follows, that is the work doing its job.

The studio’s pixel art, just like the games that inspired it, is about bringing people together to set out on new adventures, to explore distant lands, and to grow closer through shared experiences.
